Posting: Network/Server Admin (LEVEL 1 SUPPORT)

$12-15/hour

Fast growing IT services and software solutions firm in North Scottsdale is looking for a Network/Server Admin to provide regular network & server maintenance as well as provide level 1 support for any afterhours client issues.

Description:
(The position overall is performing maintenance & documentation management and part helpdesk support.)

Primary responsibility is to perform network & server maintenance. This will include maintenance procedures, administering monitoring system, answer support calls and provide professional and courteous service to our clients.

Secondary responsibility is to make updates to the documentation library as needed and perform quality assurance checks to ensure the current documentation is accurate. New documentation will need to be prepared, updated, and stored in our internal document repository (SharePoint). Ongoing documentation is required to support the day-to-day functions of the company. This role includes not only understanding ways of delivering concise and detailed information, but also the ability to work independently in a self managed environment.

During the shift you will be receiving customer phone calls where you will need to troubleshoot and if possible resolve computer software and hardware problems, or escalate to the on-call network engineer. Other responsibilities are to perform remote server, network and anti-virus maintenance.

Responsibilities include:
• Provide excellent customer service to all clients.
• Accurately identify and troubleshoot support issues, resolve if possible.
• Transfer/escalate support cases to network engineers – including any research or steps taken.
• Prepare and update all necessary network documentation.
• Verify documented information contained in the network documentation.
• Effectively work to improve support and resolution knowledge to improve overall service.
• Self managed and able to perform under minimal supervision.

Required Skills:
• Previous administrator or help desk experience required.
• Two years of customer service work experience is preferred.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and have document organization skills.
• Previous IT-related education and/or technical certifications a plus but not required.
• Ability to quickly learn new technology, terms, and business systems.
• High school diploma or GED required. *College or technical school is a plus.
• Previous hardware/software troubleshooting experience

• Resolve transferred and escalated level 2 and 3 support cases to the network engineers group.
• Prepare and update all necessary network documentation.
• Verify documented information contained in the network documentation.
• Effectively work to improve support and resolution knowledge to improve overall service.
• Self managed and able to perform under minimal supervision.

Required Skills:
• Previous Extreme Network experience required
• Two - Four years of network service and support work experience with Extreme Network hardware.
• Must be proficient with Extreme networks, Cisco Networks, and have good documenting skills.
• Extreme Network and Cisco certifications is a plus (CCNA, CCNP, ENA, ENS certifications)
• Previous IT-related education and/or technical certifications a plus but not required.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly in terms, and business system sloutions.
• Previous OS server and network hardware/software troubleshooting experience
• Must be a self-starter.
• Position will have minimal supervision but still require meeting deadlines and conforming to SLA’s
